Mike Noonan is originally from Silver Spring MD. He holds degrees in jazz studies and composition from Berklee College of music (B.Mus. Magna Cum Laude) And the University of North Texas (M.M). Mike is a multi-instrumentalist performing on vibraphone, marimba, piano, and trombone. An experienced composer and arranger his works have been featured on multiple Unified Jazz Ensemble recordings as well as recordings of other jazz artists. Mike is an innovative percussion mallet artist, and a two-time recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council individual artist awards. He provides clinics in jazz improvisation and composition and has served as faculty at several colleges in the universities.
