God's Garage (Youth)

Ministry Lead - Scott Karsner, Youth Director

The role of God's Garage Student Ministries (GGSM) at Asbury is to disciple Arnold's youth to impact the world for Jesus. God's Garage is for young people 6th grade through 12th grade.

Youth Small Groups meet on Sundays from 9:30-10:30 AM.  The small groups are an extension of our Sunday evening programs, allowing the youth to dig deeper into their faith. The middle and high school groups meet together for the lesson and break out separately for age appropriate conversations. Both groups will utilize a curriculum called Sunday Comics to deepen the youth's understanding of God and how to live out their faith. Groups led by Murray Korman and Scott Karsner.

God's Garage meets on Sunday Evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Sunday evenings typically include dinner, games, and a lesson or a service opportunity.  Several outreach events are also planned, including movie night, a corn maze, snow tubing party, and a lock-in.

GGSM is led by Scott Karsner, Asbury's Youth Director.  Follow this LINK to learn about Scott.  Scott is assisted by adult volunteers, Ashley Cox, Murray Korman, Tom Richards, Mike Zaleski, and Kristal Neale.

GGSM also has 3 student peer ministers -  Morgan Garner, Corrine Van Hoven, and Helena Tawil.

If my family attends another church or does not regularly attend any church, can my student still attend the youth group?

Yes! All 6-12 grade youth are welcome at God's Garage Student Ministries. We encourage students to worship with their family and to attend youth group at their church if it is available. But, many churches are not able to support a robust Youth Ministry Program. Our youth group includes people who attend Asbury as well as other area churches, and those who do not attend any church.

Is there a fee for my child to participate in the Youth Ministry Program

No! There is no cost to attend the youth program; Asbury United Methodist Church funds the Youth Ministry Program. However, students do pay a cost for activities outside the regular program, such as retreats and mission trips. For all activities, scholarships are available to students in need. The church welcomes donations for the program and its activities. You can donate by clicking this LINK and selecting "Youth Ministry Fund (God's Garage)." Your support is greatly appreciated so we can continue our work to Disciple Arnold's Youth to Impact the World for Jesus!
