Asbury Friends,

Have you ever given someone a gift when they weren't expecting one? Have you ever given someone a gift, not because you felt obligated to, but because it brought you joy to give it? I am inviting you to do just that this year. Christmas, the
celebration of Jesus’ birth, is an opportunity for us to give to Jesus by giving to those most in need. In Matthew 25:40 Jesus says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

This year I invite you to take the amount of money you were planning to spend on Christmas gifts and divide it in half. Spend half on your family and friends, then spend the other half on those in our community who are most in need. In this
catalog you will find a variety of needs from local non-profits. These are tangible concrete ways God is already at work in our community. Your gift may be a Christmas miracle for someone in our community.

This Christmas, let us move beyond simply celebrating the long ago birth of the Christ child, and embody the living Christ to a world longing for hope.
