The role of Children's Ministry is to encourage a love and learning of Christ through fun, social activities where children are involved in our community of Christians.  Check out the photos below to literally see the exciting events going on!  Children's Ministry is a sub-committee of Family Ministry.

 

Education

Sunday school - Classes are divided into 3 age groups - age 4 through Kindergarten, grades 1 and 2, and grades 3, 4 and 5.  For more information on teachers' names and meeting locations follow this LINK

Children's Message & Celebration Church - During the 11:00 service (except for the first Sunday of the month), children are invited to the altar for a short lesson, and then children age 4 through grade 2 are welcome to attend Celebration Church, a kid-appropriate discussion and activity time related to a lesson on God.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) - It is a joyful week where children gather to learn about God with a new theme each year.  Follow this LINK to see what fun we had at Cave Quest Vacation Bible School 2016.  Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 16 2018 - July 20 2018. Registration is full.

Music

Music Programs

Cherub Choir The cherub choir is open to both boys and girls 3-year-old & 4-year-olds.  This opportunity is available to children who attend the preschool, afternoon clubhouse and church members. You do not need to be a member of Asbury Church to be in the choir.

The Cherub Choir will rehearse 3:00—3:30 pm on Mondays in the choir room.

Children's Choir The children's choir is open to both boys and girls Kindergarten through 5th grade.This opportunity is available to children who attend afternoon clubhouse and church members. You do not need to be a member of Asbury Church to be in the choir.

The Children’s Choir will rehearse 3:45—4:15 pm on Mondays in the choir room.

Once a month, both choirs will sing at the 11:00 am worship service held in the sanctuary.

Special Events *

Child-centered events - The church offers numerous events throughout the year where children are the main participants, such as an interactive Christmas Eve service and pageant, Easter crafts and egg hunt on Palm Sunday, a Barbeque picnic, a games day in spring that is sponsored by the preschool (aka Family Fun Day), and a Harvest Party in the fall

Mission - Children are welcome to get involved by donating their old clothes to a fall Clothing Drive (and/or visit to get some clothes), and to help out with food drives, such as My Brother's Pantry.
